
Genetic counselors are the intermediaries between the science of genetic testing and the difficult decisions that people face if they are at risk for cancer, says clinical genetics expert Kenneth Offit. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Clinical Genetics Service has a multidisciplinary team of scientists, doctors, social workers, and psychologists who can put an individual's cancer risk in perspective, and provide referrals to screening and prevention services.
